This shoot is based on the 1960 drama La Dolce Vita (Italian for “the sweet life” or “the good life”).The actresses were spotted running through the streets of Rome together with posh cars around and the lovely weather complementing their lovely looks and attire. Kate Winslet is the latest to join the bandwagon of celebrities endorsing Longines after celebs like Aishwraya herself, US athletes Steffi Graf, Andre Agassi, and Taiwanese actress Lin Chi-ling.

Bipasha Basu at the launch of Gili’s new campaign

Bipasha Basu and John Abraham have been seeing each other for quite sometime now and the couple has managed to swim through rough patches in their relationship. Recently, Bipasha confesses that whatever jewelry adorns her has all been gifted by boyfriend John.
‘All the jewelry comes to me from John. He is my diamond supplier,’ Bipasha told reporters after
She also expressed what kind of engagement ring she would like and said, ‘Well the engagement ring comes from the other side. You have to ask this to the other side. I hope it’s nice and beautiful; not too big, not too small, just the right size for my finger.’
At the launch of a new ad campaign of Gili, the jewellery brand of Gitanjali, at Taj Lands End, Bipasha also stated that though her mother saves a lot of jewellery for her, but she is happy with her own stuff.

Celina Jaitley is ‘Born of Dreams’ for Diya Jewelry

Diya Jewelry, a new segment of Jewelry brand by Gitanjali Group, has chosen Celina Jaitley as its brand ambassador. The brand has the philosophy as ‘Born of Dreams’ and it believes that Jaitley’s life reflects this philosophy truly. Celina hails from a small town and winning the title of Miss India and having a dream journey in Bollywood seems to have every girl’s dream come true. The campaign required a sweet face which would represent a girl wandering in her own world of fantasies and fairytales and Celina fits this image perfectly. The imagery of the campaign is very dream-like and ethereal, set against nature and is based on the transformation/ metamorphosis of the beautiful diya woman into a dove / pea cock etc.
Says the actress, “Diya is the next biggest thing in India when it comes to diamond jewelry and in the most exotic beautiful designs I have ever seen. The whole ad campaign is out of this world and surreal. Dabbo brings magic to the pictures, the peacock inspired creation by neeta lulla gives it an ethereal feel. And I, the mannequin, feel like a princess of another world altogether and makeup artist Ojas has done his wonder for the second time again after the proactive international ad campaign.”
The photo-shoot for the campaign is done by Dabbo Ratnani, costume is by Neeta Lulla, hair and make-up is by Ojas Rajani and the creative director is Priya Pardiwala.

Ameesha Patel tries nudity to revive her sinking career

Ameesha Patel, the girl who debuted with ‘Kaho Naa Pyar Hai’, swept the filmdom across its feet with her innocent beauty, but then her career seemed to go through a downslide with rough patches in her personal life too.
In a desperate bid to make a comeback on the silver screen, Ameesha has now resorted to the tried and tested formula of daring and baring it all. She went for a bikini makeover for ‘Thoda Pyar Thoda Magic’, then chose to bare her bosom for Dabboo Ratnani’s calendar and has once again gone topless to send waves through her photo shoot for the July issue of ‘The Man’. She has also given an ample cleavage show for the magazine. In the interview for the mag, she reveals that she wants to play a role Gundi (Gangster) in the days to come.
Check out Ameesha covering her assets with bare hands for ‘The Man’!!

Rani Mukherjee featuring Vintage Glamour for L’Officiel

Rani Mukerji features on the cover of L’Officiel Magazine’s India edition for the month of July 2010 in a strap less golden color gown. She represents vintage glamour in Dolce and Gabbana. The cover says ultimate watch issue but the watch she is wearing (the same one which she wore at peepli live music launch) seems out of place. The glove and fascinator are a great addition, but Rani’s make-up doesn’t seem to match up to the Vintage Glamour theme.
Just to put in, Rani has again changed the spelling of her surname, though I doubt it will help in any way her sinking career and the toll bell signaling retirement. I am not a big fan of Miss Mukherjee, but thought I could post this for all the fans of this Bong Beauty. Like it, pals?? Let us know…..

‘Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara’ to have the local flavors of Sapin

Spain is bubbling with the cast and crew of Zoya Akhtar’s ‘Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara’ who are there for the shoot of the first schedule of the film. Being shot in Spain, the movie will feature many of its local customs and traditions.
The ‘running of the bull’ ritual is very popular in Spain and Hrithik, Farhan and Abhay participated in it to shoot a scene for the film. Looking their handsome best in the traditional costume of red and white, the three actors ran along with a group of locals while being chased by running bulls and this scene is supposed to be one of the film’s major highlights.
Every year from July 7th-14th thousands pack into Pamplona to start Spain’s most famous bull-running fiesta to honour Navarre capital’s patron saint, San Fermin. Spain stages more than 3, 000 fiestas (festivals) each year but the seven days of bull running are the favorite in terms of spectacle and excitement.
Zoya also shot another popular custom - a tomato-throwing match where opponents douse each other in tomato pulp- with Katrina Kaif and the three male leads of the film.

Lafangey Parindey Movie Synopsis | Lafangey parindey story line

A dash of style with loads of attitude and a hunger to reach the stars, Lafangey Parindey is about a group of youngsters living in the backstreets of Mumbai. It is an unusual love story of Nandu (Neil Nitin Mukesh) and Pinky (Deepika Padukone) whose path to love is paved by friendship, grit and hope.
He is wild. He is born to fight. He is One-Shot Nandu. For the raw, champion street fighter, one-shot is literally what it takes. Absolutely wild, fierce, and hungry to win, this fighter takes boxing to a new level by knocking down his opponents – BLINDFOLDED. Needless to say, One-Shot lives life on his own terms and is a local hero amongst his friends. But all that soon changes, when he meets Pinky Palkar.
She is blind. She is born to fly. She is Pinky Palkar. A unique girl, a powerhouse of talent! On one hand she works at a regular, boring 9-to-5 job at a mall but on the other hand, she is a kickass dancer on skates! Strong headed, talented and fiercely ambitious – these traits make up Pinky Palkar’s deadly personality. Her life’s ambition is only one – to rise above all the ‘losers’ living in her locality and carve a niche for herself. She will use her talent to show the others that she can win in life. There is only one, tiny, obstacle… She is blind.
Lafangey Parindey. Two different personalities. Two different lives. Destined to meet.
Set in the grungy streets of Mumbai, Lafangey Parindey is an unusual, edgy love story about the never say die spirit even when your last chip is down. It is an intriguing journey of a blindfolded street fighter and a blind dancer who, along with four friends, set out to achieve the impossible.
Born wild, will one-shot Nandu ever learn to love?
Born to fly, will Pinky Palkar ever learn to see?

I hate love stories Film Review

Well, Its Dharma Productions and the marketing campaign had been spot on. But somehow I started getting a bad feeling about the movie; I thought this movie would go in the similar cliché fashion as many other Bollywood blockbusters. A critic going inside the theatre with a preconceived notion or expectation might have been considered a crime but for a person who sees at-least 300+ movies a year its much better to have such expectation games to feel active and fresh every single time we enter the theatre dome. Was it cliché ridden? Yes, was it a bad movie? That’s a definite no.

The pleasant surprise came in the first reel itself when the hero narrates why he hates love stories having a particular cliché. And all over the movie it has several satire's and spoof on such movies but at the end of it all by having all the cliché added in a different way the director wants to state that such reel cliché can actually happen in real life.

Jai (Imran) is the assistant director to one of the most successful romantic directors in India, Veer (Sameer Soni). But unfortunately Jai hates love stories reel or real and especially movies of Veer, but he needs to be there for he wants to become a director. The work place is filled with people who loves fantasizing and loving each and every single cliché Veer comes up with and to top it all the new art director the young and beautiful Simran (Sonam) idolizes Veer's movies. Simran wants to be in such a fairy tale life only to be turned topsy turvy by Jai. Simran who has a perfect love life with Sameer Dattani slowly falls for the care-free, independent and Casanova or in short term, imperfect Jai. But Jai Hates love stories and never ever wants to be in one. Can Jai fall in love with Simran? But this film being what it is, can it be any other way?

For most parts the movie seemed to be a parody of the cliché and that makes the movie a complete fun to watch. The movie had an under-base of comedy and it has worked well for the movie. The movie does move quite slow in the first half and doesn't quite shift gears in the second but still overall you do come out of the theatres with a smile on your face and the first timer- Punit Malhotra should be patted on the back just for that. A non-melodramatic rom-com which is sure to be lapped up by the youngsters. All the scenes of the sarcastic mother of Imran are a laugh worthy. There are loads of continuation problem though, how can Imran's Mother in Delhi be having a lunch get-together when Imran is in Mumbai taking a night flight? So much of a time difference between Delhi and Mumbai? Well, Its Bollywood for crying out aloud, anything is possible.

Imran is cute but somehow he is just not right for emotional or romantic roles. He just couldn't pull it off but as a Casanova he carries off the comic lines with exquisite timing. Sonam Kapoor is not a great actor herself, but she has improved quite a lot from her Saawariya days. Her laugh looks artificial and her dialogue delivery forced but she is pretty convincing as a dreamer and looks ravishing in modern wear. Even though their acting prowess is highly debatable Sonam and Imran Jodi clicks as they posses a powerful chemistry. A chemistry which was electrifying! Anju Mahendru as Imran's mother was brilliant, unlike any Bollywood movie's before(not that I can remember of) she is the sarcastic kinds and she kindles the love inside Imran which makes all the difference and so is the very cute and lovable Kavin Dave(The sprite guy) who makes you smile whenever he comes on screen. Sameer Soni as Veer is brilliant as the eccentric and vibrant celebrity director. The rest of the crew is just about fine.

Technically the movie looks as rich and sophisticated as any Dharma Production with an exceptional contribution behind the camera by T. Ayananka Bose. The editing looks neat with no major glitches. The soundtrack is young and vibrant and who else could have made it this trendy than the talented young duo Vishal-Shekar? Salim Sullaiman's background worked quite well with the mood of the movie. Art direction was brilliant as well. Dialogue written by Punit himself is the high-point of the movie. Costumes by Manish work wonders for the movie too.

Overall it’s the same old wine in a bottle which states the fact quite clearly that it is the old wine over and over again. The movie would have fallen flat if not for the quirky and brilliantly penned dialogues, scintillating chemistry from the lead and some amazing tunes by music wiz duo. Go for it with an open mind and come out smiling.

A sneak peak into ‘Udaan’

Releasing this Friday is debutant director Vikramaditya Motwane’s “Udaan” which revolves around the story of Rohan (Rajat Barmecha), a teenage boy, who returns home after spending loathing eight years in a boarding school. He finds himself suffocating under his authoritarian father who forces him to work in his father’s steel factory and study engineering against his wishes, thus leading to Rohan’s abandoning the house to pursue his dream of becoming a writer.
Co-produced by Anurag Kashyap, Sanjay Singh and UTV Motion Pictures, this small budget drama features many popular TV stars like Ronit Roy and Ram Kapoor.
“What ‘3 Idiots’ has said, this film will take that forward. The perception of people is changing in society. ‘Udaan’ has a good story to tell,” Kashyap said.
Talking about the film, Motwane says, “a very simple, straightforward film… more than that it’s a very emotional film. It’s about a boy’s journey. The father wants the son to do something and the son wants something different and what happens at the end of the film is the culmination of that relationship.”
“My script was ready in 2003. It took five years to take the picture off the ground. It took so long to get producers, as no one was ready to take the film. It might be because in 2003, multiplexes were not in existence. Today it has become easier…,” he added.
“Udaan” was selected for the Un Certain Regard category at the 63rd Cannes International Film Festival this year.

Akshay Kumar and Trisha Krishnan in ‘Khatta Meetha’

Akshay Kumar and Priyadarshan jodi has churned out some of the biggest and successful comedies over the years like Hera Pheri, Garam Masala, Bhagam Bhag, Bhool Bhulaiyya and De Dana Dan to name a few. They are not set once again to give you a hilarious ride with ‘Khatta Meetha’ which is a remake of the 1989 Priyadarshan directed hit Malayalam film, Vellanakalude Nadu starring Mohan Lal.
The movie is based on the subject of road development and the road mafia. Struggling road Construction contractor, Sachin Tichkule (Akshay Kumar) has no scope to turn big as he has no money to bribe. To make matters worse the new Municipal Commissioner turns out to be his ex-girlfriend (Trisha Krishnan), who now hates him. The movie is a satirical comedy with how Sachin bumbles his way from one disaster to another and survives corruption and bribery rampant in the system in his own ingenious way.
The movie is set to hit the theatres on 23rd July 2010. Take a look at the posters of the movie….
